John Perkins' new book, although being essentially ignored by the mainstream media, is currently on 20 bestseller lists, including the New York Times.

In the book, John recounts his true-life story as he worked for one of the world's leading development companies, MAIN, Inc. During the 1980s, MAIN led the way in providing analysis and strategies for massive development projects throughout the world. Allied with the World Bank and the NSA (National Security Agency) the development projects were massive, and tied to U.S. giants like Haliburton and Bechtel.

What makes these seemingly reasonable efforts to uplift the developing world the basis of a "confessional" is that they were designed to ensnare the nations into overwhelming debts, thereby forcing them to accommodate special resource development "deals" that benefited the "partners," leading to historic devastation of peoples, cultures and environments around the world. We hear about these effects each day in the news.

In this interview, we focus on the overall impacts of development,  and on a vision for a better world, to which John Perkins has dedicated himself at every level.

I recommend that everyone read his book, so that we can know the roots of so many of the environmental catastrophes we witness endlessly and realize that these can be turned around, with knowledge, dedication, and a will to truly help humankind.

From the Preface: John Perkins writes. . .

"Economic hit men (EHMs) are highly paid professionals who cheat countries around the globe out of trillions of dollars. They funnel money from the World Bank, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and other foreign "aid" organizations into the coffers of huge corporations and the pockets o fa few wealthy families who control the planet's natural resources. Their tools include fraudulent financial reports, rigged elections, payoffs, extortion, sex, and murder. They play a game as old as empire, but one that has taken on new and terrifying dimensions during this time of globalization.

I should know; I was an EHM.
