A short inspiration by Jeanne and Bill Watson, who have devoted 40 years of their lives to the Oregon / California Trail Association (OCTA) .

Then we talk with Deb Salt, The BLM's National Trails Coordinator about the Trails System, The importance of volunteers and the economic and cultural significance to gateway communities.


Segment two 

We talk with Gary Werner, Executive Director for the Partnership for the National Trails System, the man responsible for overseeing the coordination and communication of all aspects of the National Trails System. He discusses National Trails and their significance in coming to know the history of the US and its lands.

Segment Three 

We talk with Steven Elkinton, the Program Leader with the National Trails System for the National Park Service about the many elements of the system, and how you can get involved.
